Welcome!

This world

sparkles...

one must just keep looking until one finds the right place to stand to see all the beauty and sparkle!

I’m so glad you stopped by! Please take a look around!

What is a name? A symbol that labels and explains us? It is our personal flag like the Stars and Stripes or the Tricolore represent the national soul of their countries. I've changed mine over the years. My mother probably had her moments of meaning well, of loving me, and those moments must have their influence as well as any others. My names have taken me from the unwanted mouse to the strident crow to the calm confidence that stretches between the stars.  My writing must be colored by my name. From garish screaming as it's born, through moments of tremulous hesitation, gray shuttering death where words can never flow again, into a golden whispered morning where words and myth are not the crowbar by which my soul breathes, but the gentle invitation of a love yet being born.

I have been a mother, a wife several times, a submissive, a slave, a hopeful, the lost, the angry, the defeated, an American, a Mary Sue, a quiet man with a pink tie, a drag king, a transexual, a peasant, a scholar, a thorn in more than one side, a bandage to bridge one time to another, an experiment, a shadow.... I have been mostly for other people. Jerri Sue. Jari. Nix. Jewls. Nick. Willow. Pinkwhirlwind. Idiot. Crybaby. Nothing. Though these are labels given by others, worn for others.

There is a moment in one of my stories where one of my most favorite characters declares his name, his meaning. That I should take his name, even though I don't have the love that he was born for, that he thrived believing in - is a kind of soul volcanic rebellion. Jewls. Not fractured and severed and servile, clinging to the crumbs of hope and love, but proud and defiant. I am Nix Jewls Winter. This is my flag.

The stories I write are the magma of my life, flowing over and through my soul. I write historicals, science fiction, fantasy, mystery, and just about everything in between. Mostly I write yaoi stories, love between those that should be equals, male/male, though some of my stories are more gender fluid.

Thank you for being here!
